When you really think about it Lavish Mormon temples are completely unnecessary!  For 40 years after the Mormon pioneers arrived in Salt Lake City they did every essential living ordinance in the “Endowment House” while the Salt Lake Temple was being constructed. 

I do not recall ANY revelation that restricts the living ordinances to Lavish Mormon Temples. 

Correct me if I'm wrong.  If the Mormon Church really desires everyone to receive the fullness of the gospel they should establish modest “endowment houses” where local members could attend without significant financial burden.
